Personal
I was born and raised in Watertown, WI. It was in fifth grade that my Christian day school teacher suggested to me that I think about the ministry as a vocation and the desire has never left me. Since our pastor training schools- Northwestern Prep and Northwestern College- were located in Watertown at the time, I lived at home until I headed for our Lutheran seminary in Mequon, WI. for the final four years of my pastorial training. I was married to my wife Sara after my first year of seminary training and the Lord has blessed us with five children- now grown- and 10 grandchildren.
Professional
In 1972, I received my first call into the parish ministry. The call was to serve a mission congregation in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, a suburb of Akron, Ohio. I served there for the first eight and half years of my ministry. The next sixteen and a half years were spent in a rural setting in Mt. Calvary, WI, located eight miles east of Fond du Lac. During much of that period, I also taught part time at Winnebago Lutheran Academy, our Fond du Lac Lutheran High School. After 25 years in the ministry the Lord has now brought me to Elkhorn and First Evangelical Lutheran Church in the summer of 1997. This congregation is blessed with over 570 souls and a fine Christian Day School with five teachers. Since the Lord has given me a real love for Christian education, I pray that the Lord will bless our congregation with an ever increasing knowledge and love for God's Word- from the youngest years to oldest years. As we grow in God's Word we will grow in our commitment to our Lord and in our desire to proclaim to all who will listen the saving truths of Jesus Christ.
