Our School
Welcome
The 2009-2010 school year marks the 29th year for First Lutheran's Christian Day School. The purpose and intent of this school has been and always will be the sharing of God's Word with His children. Our overall goal is to give each student a well-rounded Christ-centered education.
Throughout our history, we have been blessed with dedicated teachers, eager students, supportive parents, and many diligent volunteers and supporters. We are truly thankful for all that God has and continues to give us. We look forward to continuing our growth in His Word and in His love.
First Lutheran School's Philosophy and Purpose
The Lord has given parents the primary responsibility for the Christian training of their children. Christian congregations have also been given the responsibility to train their children according to the Scriptures. First Lutheran School exists as an important part of First Lutheran Church to assist and support parents with the Christian education and training of their children. Through this Christian congregation, the Lord has divinely called our school’s teachers to assist parents with the Christian training of their children.
As a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), First Lutheran Church and School hold the Holy Scriptures to be the true and inerrant Word of God. We teach the Scriptural truth that all people are born sinful and therefore deserve eternal damnation. Our Christian education then brings to the children the joyful message that God sent His Son Jesus to suffer and die for their sins. By Jesus’ death and resurrection all people have been redeemed from sin. Through faith in Christ, all can receive full and free salvation. Not only are these Bible truths taught in devotions and religion classes, but they are brought out in all subject areas of the curriculum.
Through daily contact with God’s Word, the children will be motivated to honor, serve, and obey our Lord and share His Word with others. A total Christian education will furnish children with the knowledge and skills for life in the world around them. More importantly, through a total Christian education, the Holy Spirit will develop and build a Christian faith necessary to receive the blessings of eternal salvation.
