Curriculum
The students receive instruction in all subject areas required at the elementary level. They include the following: reading, math, language, spelling, science, social studies, penmanship, physical education, art, music, literature, technology, Spanish, and other related subjects. These subjects will be taught in the light of God's Word.
Religious instruction includes Bible history, Luther's catechism, church history, and hymnology. Daily devotions and prayer are also part of their religious training. Memorization of the six chief parts of the Catechism and Bible verses give the children the foundation they need to defend themselves against evil and temptation.
Standardized tests of achievement and mental ability are administered. Parents are informed of their child's score and the test records are kept by the school to show the child's progress and to aid in evaluating our instructional materials and methods. The standardized test given in the WELS is the Terra Nova test. This test compares favorably to the tests given by the WI public school system.
